Northwest Florida raised Bass-Baritone Lloyd Reshard is an opera singer and collaborative lyricist whose stage and writing has been performed throughout the United States. Lloyd made his debut with Panama City Symphony in their Holiday by the Bay Christmas Concert in 2018. This year, Lloyd collaborated with Panama City Symphony again in their outreach performances of David Goldflies’ The Hunt as Narrator.

On the opera stage, Lloyd has been seen in theaters across the nation performing dramatic and comedic roles like Figaro in Fargo-Moorhead Opera’s production of Mozart’s Le Nozze di Figaro, Colline in La Boheme, and Guglielmo in Cosi fan tutte; as well as, Death in First Coast Opera’s production of Savitri, Haly in St. Petersburg Opera Company’s production of L’Italiana in Algeri, and Rev. Williams in Frances Pollock’s Stinney: An American Execution with GLOW Lyric Theatre, among many others. This year alone, he has already performed the role of Prince Gremin in Heartbeat Opera’s production of Eugene Onegin, Amonasro in Union Avenue Opera’s Aida in Concert alongside renowned tenor Limmie Pulliam, as well as Dulcamara in Landlocked Opera’s production of L’Elisir d’Amore.

On the concert stage, Mr. Reshard made his debut with the Northwest Florida Symphony Orchestra as guest soloist in the Sounds of the Spectrum concert, alongside Grammy-nominated and internationally renowned tenor Lawrence Brownlee and was Bass Soloist in their Handel’s Messiah. In June, Lloyd was a featured bass soloist in Craig Hella Johnson’s Considering Matthew Shepard with the Master Chorale of South Florida. He co-founded the Piano/Voice duo Inicio Musica with pianist and composer Lois Henry last year, debuting their inaugural concert Between the Earth and Sky, highlighting sacred vocal works by American composers. Lloyd was also the artistic director and a performer in 2019/20 in the narrated song cycle Viola! Song Cycle, which chronicles the tragic story of the Viola Edward’s Hospital, a black hospital in Pensacola during the 1920’s.

Lloyd is also a lyricist in 4 choral collaborations with internationally renowned Haitian-American composer Sydney Guillaume, including: Nou La (2022; Phoenix Chamber Choir), This, Too, Shall Pass (2022; Master Chorale of Tampa Bay), A Taste of Freedom (2023; Spokane Symphony & Chorale), and, I Will Not Look Away (2024; Portland Gay Men’s Chorus). In July over 1,400 voices came together to sing a newly arranged version of Nou La during the HarbourVOICES International Festival of Collective Singing Traditions Gala Concert in St. Johns, Newfoundland and Labrador, opening for musical phenom Jacob Collier.
