Pre-Concert Lectures: Meet the Maestro Finalists and Guest Artists

Join Panama City Symphony for Moments with the Maestro, a series of intimate, pre-concert lectures hosted at the Panama City Center for the Arts on the Fridays before each core concert from 4:00 PM – 5:00 PM. 

This season features an exciting twist: the lectures will be presented by the finalists for our next Music Director and Conductor, with select sessions also featuring appearances by our guest artists and featured soloists. This unique format gives you a special opportunity to get to know the conducting candidates, evaluate their community interaction, and experience their presentation skills and musical knowledge firsthand before they take the podium.

During these congenial and casual sessions, the speakers will present a rich medley of insights into the upcoming concert’s musical program. You will discover the inspiration behind the repertoire selections, dive into the history of the composers and their works, and learn about the subtle nuances and key moments to listen for during the live performance.
