PICTURES AT AN EXHIBITION & BRUCH VIOLIN CONCERTO

Celebrate the climax of our 30th anniversary season with works by Bernstein, Bruch, and Mussorgsky. Three Dance Episodes from ‘On the Town’ capture the spirit of New York City, while Bruch’s evocative Violin Concerto No. 1 showcases guest violinist Ànnika Jenkins’ artistry and virtuosity. After the intermission, the season culminates with Mussorgsky’s ‘Pictures at an Exhibition,’ a masterpiece that brings paintings to life with each note. This finale concert promises a fitting tribute to three decades of musical excellence! A Visual Symphony: In the foyer, a curated collection of original art, inspired by the music, awaits your discovery. Take the opportunity to acquire one of these unique paintings.

Ànnika Jenkins, violin

Ànnika is a U.S. Presidential Scholar in the Arts and recipient of the Congressional Award Gold Medal. She has soloed throughout the United States and abroad and performed as concertmaster of numerous national and international orchestras. Ànnika was top Instrumental Prizewinner of the International Richard Strauss Competition in Salzburg, Austria. InterHarmony International Music Festival awarded her the Bach and Tchaikovsky Performance Awards for “Extraordinary Artistry.” A multi-instrumentalist, Ànnika was awarded the Paderewski Gold Medal for piano performance by the American College of Musicians and a Certificate of Music Performance in Singing from Trinity College London-Guildhall School of Music. Ànnika holds a Bachelor of Music with Academic Honors degree from The Juilliard School and a master’s degree in International Relations – National Security from Harvard University.
